Bought Blogo

Well, I bought Blogo for $12.95, as it does seem to be quite a good package, which is simple enough for basic users, but also offers enough functions for more advanced users.

Time will tell, as if I keep blogging, it must be easy. The only reason I don't normally blog is that I find it takes too much time with basic tools, or I can't do what I want to do.

Qumana

I have just spent the last 45 minutes trying to set Qumana up with my blogger account. If you are not aware of how these things work, this is how I have my blog set up.

I have an account with Google.
Your Google account allows you to sign up for a Blogger account.
Once you have a blogger account, you can then create your blog, but it looks basic.
I use Realmac's Rapidweaver to create my website.
There is a plugin for Rapidweaver that allows it to integrate a Blogger account, so my Blogger posts show up here, on my website.
I can use Rapidweaver, Bloggers website, or another tool to update my blog.

I am trying to find a simple to use blogging tool that will connect to my Blogger Blog, and allow me to post pictures, for free, and so far I'm struggling.

Trying out MarsEdit 2.2.2

Just testing MarsEdit, as a way of updating my blogs.

It allows you to place images in the middle of your posts, which makes them look more professional. The initial setup was a bit of a pain, but it was mainly my fault. The setup could have more of an obvious guide, as I was fumbling around with the settings, hoping to find the correct ones.

After a while I realised where I was going wrong, and got everything set up, or so I hope!

Merry Christmas

Well, another Christmas day is here and nearly finished.

My son received a shed load of toys and PC games. Where do you do when you receive even more toys, and you haven't got enough space for the first lot?

Tomorrow is my fathers birthday, so I will be taking a trip over to see him and the rest of the family. I think an iTunes voucher will be in order, so I can persuade him to upgrade his iPod Touch. He is stll making do with it as a music player, when it could be so much more. Either that or some family tree software for his Mac Mini. I'd like to give my parents something to do, and to get them using the Mini more.

To anyone reading this, who has parents who use Windows PC's, and you are trying to talk them into using a Mac, stick with it. My folks have had their Mini for a year, and XP for years before that, and when they do something on the XP box they are reminded how easy the Mac is.

If you think that lack of software is a major problem, then I recommend you look at http://www.macupdate.com. There is tons of free and low cost software of very high quality available for the Mac. I have never bought Mac software that I have been disappointed with.

If you are a PC software developer, looking at the Mac market, then go for it. From experience, I think Mac users are more likely to buy their software, where as PC owners tend to copy software.
